The comic is literally about Poe’s mother (Shara Bey) and father (Kes Dameron) after the battle of Endor until they decide to settle down with their *already born son* on Yavin 4. And Shara is already a good pilot before she meets Luke. The mission they’re on has nothing to do with flight either.

Personally, I think they should do the 4k versions with the 2011 Bluray editions of them. I found that one to have a pretty good balance of both practical effects and CGI (which helped update the movie to help it look more in line with the current Star Wars universe).
