Yeah - I think there's a way to use some of that footage without killing off the mother (callously, I might add). It's a sitcom, I don't think there's anything wrong with giving everyone a happyish ending.

Counterpoint - the finale would have been ok if the show had ended after season 2. But after 100+ additional episodes of character development, the writers made a lazy choice in reverting every character back to their season 1 selves. I'm not really a fan of his, but good for Scarborough for making whatever deal he made to be able to appear on television every morning dressed in his pajamas.

Hillsborough is an incredible piece of filmmaking.

The problem with Simmons writing is his thinking that the more words, the better. I frequently like what he has to say, he just takes SO LONG to get there.
