Big failure not marketing this as “Peter Pasta and Marinara Jane”

Unexpected Sci-Fi Twist

I don’t know why, but I laughed harder and more times at this episode than I have at B99, or any episode of TV, in a while. Plus the Jake/Amy stuff landed emotionally for me.

The setup and then first delivery of “Lin (Manuel) was utter genius, better than the main punchline of that story.

As far as suggesting a fake/possible future Weird Al song title goes, I think you could do a lot worse.

I’m just going to remind everyone that Mon-El was Good. If you want to take about bringing back a “meh” character where the chemistry was forced, it’s Sam/Reign.

(1) Putting Roslin right below Whitmore amused me, since in ID4 Mary McDonnell played First Lady Whitmore.

This was good, but it mostly showed me that Fox and Holland look more alike than I had ever noticed.

Rounding pi to 7/22 instead of 22/7?  Definitely sounds like government work.

I liked the character of Adam in the original movies and I’m not happy he’ll be played by Josh Gad in this.

This is the way

Look, we all know who you’re talking about and you’re not wrong.

You can see the full list of nominees here, which also includes a Worst Supporting Actress nomination for Jessica Chastain’s not-entirely-frightening Phoenix in Dark Phoenix and a Worst Supporting Actor nomination for Bruce Willis’s role in Glass, which is maybe a little harsh.

Why would we assume that Kitteredge is an antagonist? It’s standard fare for MI movies that Ethan Hunt and his team either (a) are falsely accused of something or (b) do in fact go rogue for justified reasons (but ones only they understand at the time, and they can’t convince their superiors of until the end).

Yes, that’s just wrong by the author. As you say, really only the first two are standalone movies, and they still have Ving Rhames in addition to Cruise.

But as I said above, that was the worst part of the movie. It was better done (in the sense of being character-driven and striking good emotional beats) than it was with Sam and Bumblebee in the earlier movies, but I didn’t come here for a random coming-of-age story featuring hijinks with a mute Bumblebee. Hot take,

One side always facing the star is considered a case of rotation where 1 day = 1 year for the planet.

I think I’m pretty close to where you are on this. Bumblebee struck a really nice tone with improved robot designs and personalities, but I wished it had the scale of the other movies. We’ve been making this mistake since the first Transformers when my understanding was that Spielberg (a producer) said it should be a

I usually know if I’m going to like or dislike a movie going into it.  In part because I take movies on their own terms.  If I know a movie is a B-movie and it knows it’s a B-movie, and I choose to watch it, then we’re probably all good.  The original Anaconda was not one of those cases. It stands out to me fun as a
