I really hate the “play the right way” stuff like what Martinez said.

What if---and hear me out here---it was a personal issue that he didn’t want to disclose?

“I bet it has its ups and downs” to the elevator guy is glorious I will not listen to any counterarguments.

How is it not Fu Minshew?

I realize there is some analytical basis for this article (I mean, I read it) but at the end of the day both this and the criticism of Seattle in Super Bowl 49 are really veering into “results over process” territory. I feel like analytics are a lot more useful for macro decisions like to kick or not (punt/FG/PAT)

If you told me that was a Stabbing Westward music video I wouldn’t know if you were referring to the music or his form.

How often does this happen during the course of an NBA season, though?

Kitchens often looks and coaches like a guy who was handed the headset after winning a contest

I’m trying to couch my responses a little bit. I totally agree with you that these plays were way luckier than Mahomes to Hill last year.  There were a few things in this game that were lucky for KC, but nothing like those two specific plays for Baltimore.

I only put as much doubt in my OP as I did because I had the sense of “am I missing something here?”

Yes, if multiple additional breaks go Baltimore’s way and none of the breaks they already got (the ones I mentioned + others) go KC’s way and none of that changes the game flow such that KC still lets its foot off the gas on both offense and defense, then Baltimore probably wins.

I’ve seen more ridiculous penalties in my life.  Nothing Mahomes did today was remotely as lucky as the slop to Roberts or even the Snead bounce.

I’ll walk back what I said: the play to Snead was the better of the two, I’m not sure which was “luckier.” The Snead play showed good scrambling by Jackson along with a decent throw, followed by a good play by Snead and a very fortunate bounce. It’s “lucky” in a manner I’m now used to after watching Mahomes, like the

Legitimately seems like Ogletree was giving up, and Peppers was trying to push him to go. Maybe the hamstring injury happened during the run?

Counterpoint, the two late touchdowns were both aided by exceptionally fortunate catches, both shown in the clips above.  The 4th-and-5 was a barely missed sack, wounded duck of a throw, and arguably offensive PI.  The 3rd and 17th ricochet to Snead was even luckier.  I wasn’t happy with the Chiefs defense letting the

I expect Deadspin to post a public apology. They’re really good about eating crow when their narratives go down in flames.

Sorry I replied the same thing to two of your posts, didn’t realize both were you. So many posts in this thread are ignoring the fact that significant criminal accusations already existed, even if there were no charges against AB. In fact, I had a brief argument with Dom about this on his other article. In most

Repost of above, but there were plenty of other stories about AB out there:
