Diesel has been in every single Fast and Furious movie so far, even right at the end of Tokyo Drift in a surprising and delightful cameo

I didn’t hear of his passing, did the world’s oldest person pop some champagne in celebration?

On the other hand, it’s a little rich to hear an NBA general manager complain about how unnatural and unhealthy it is to try to win a championship every year.

and way too much Dennis Scott

Every. Single. Word. Of. This.

Remember Chad Johnson’s “who covered 85 in ‘05?” list.  Didn’t work out great for him, perhaps Ramsey is just being realistic.

It’s funny to me that “worked with Patrick Mahomes” somehow trumps “was mediocre with Patrick Mahomes”

Of course it’s preferable for what really happened to be something far less insidious but wanting that to be the actual reality isn’t really much of a thing. I can wish a lot of things aren’t as bad as they really seem to be.

I made a much longer comment elsewhere, but the only report that anyone has put their name behind says that the broken arm was an accident.

I fully expected comments like that, I am glad that at least I was able to frame in it a way that we’re not off the rails immediately. Hopefully others can follow your lead and I’ll do my best as well.

As a Chiefs fan, I’ve been following a lot of details that aren’t being covered by the national media. I’ve been following them with some skepticism, because it’s easy and probably fair to assume there is somewhere between a little and a lot of pro-Chiefs bias coming from those sources. However, there are important

In another reply to Paul Kinsey I made some comments about the definition of GOAT, including things that address some of your points, that I won’t repeat here. I will point out the obvious question of “if you think GOAT is a stupid discussion, why are you arguing about it here?”

I’ll admit that’s what makes these arguments difficult. When defining “GOAT” instead of going with “best ever at peak” vs. “best total career accomplishments,” and then adding in other things like length of career, dominance relative to period, etc., most people try to split the difference.

I’d like to think your point is accurate, but you can never tell what idiocy gets involved in these arguments anymore. I do think “dominance relative to competition” is not a very useful discussion when crossing sports, even when crossing the gender divide in a sport such as tennis, where you’re talking about no

In a bit of a surprise, Halep needed just 56 minutes to defeat arguably the greatest player in the sport’s history.

Like ToeToToeOnBirdLaw said, though, I’m not sure it was *that* close. Federer won a close 1st set, then sort of threw away the 2nd set. Then he decisively but not overwhelmingly won the final two sets.  I’m not sure it was as close as your typical 5-setter.

And Vlad Guerrero Jr. hit more total HRs but lost the derby, and two of the last five presidential elections have not been won by the winner of the popular vote.  Rules!  They’re a heck of a thing.

For a lot of basketball fans, the inability of teams in less attractive, less competitive cities to hold onto their best players is one of the crucial problems facing the NBA today. I don’t necessarily believe that—the dominance of New York and L.A. over the Midwest has existed at least since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

but I reading it
