One of the tensions on portraying Vader is how much "Anakin" you want to shine through given that he's supposed to be pretty irredeemable from killing Mace Windy onward. In moments where Vader is "nice," it's…weird.

The Stalin thing is awful, but then, lots of people loved Fidel Castro despite the (comparatively fewer) people he killed, too. Maybe Supes was like that…but yes. It bore exploration.

Wait, I'm not alone in disliking Gillen? Of course, my problem was him taking a swipe at me on Twitter last year. But still, it kind of colored my ability to read him foreverafter.

(I really have to stop replying here.)

The entire EU has been declared "Legends" and therefore "not official" as of 2014. Canon consists of the movies, Clone Wars cartoon, the novelization of the film, and the comic Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. Media published after mid-2014 is canon.

I am not sure the latter is the case. From what I read, Dark Horse lost such a huge chunk to licensing fees that the books just weren't that profitable. I imagine Marvel has less of that problem since they're all in the Disney pipeline.

"That was necessary after years of criticism that the Dark Horse books had languished by telling so many stories that did not actually feature the main characters from the films."

Nope. Cameos only.

Rebels started 5 years before Episode IV. The show's producers have said the current series is now 2.5 years before E4.

Also confirmed in the Darth Vader comic series. Vader went to Geonosis and met a lone surviving Geonosian Queen who'd been sterilized and was quite crazy.

Not exactly. Kaman was knighted as a Jedi in Season 2 by the Force Ghost of the Grand Inquisitor in last season's "Shroud of Darkness." If you doubt the ability of a dead Sith acolyte to promote him…well, Yoda was watching when it happened, so it's cool.

The Hulk and Fantastic Four are second stringers?

It's a play off of a DC series from the mid 80s, The DC Challenge. Twelve issue comic where a writer and artist wrote an issue and ended it on a cliffhanger. The next writer an artist had to pick up from where the previous team left off. I have no idea if the end product was any good, but I'm willing to give the

You know what, I'm looking forward to The Kamandi Challenge as the breakout book. It might suck, it might rock.

Dude. She's not questioning your validity or berating you. You asked a question and she answered it in context of the article. You got more specific, and she politely followed up.

TURN IT AROUND WITH ANOTHER ROUND…THERE'S A PARTY AT THE BAR SO EVERYBODY PUT YOUR GLASSES UP…

Paradoxically, I am enjoying that Marvel is retiring so many of its older characters. I think the mechanism by which they've done so—in most cases, death—is awful, but this does feel like the right time to make a generational shift in many of the characters.

Curiously, you're the second person who looked at me as having a self-care issue. It's less that and more of a "I don't know how I fit into the world right now" thing and I'm not willing to go into more detail than that in a public forum. I am not suicidal or turning violent, so don't worry on that end.

I miss you all too. I'll just say that I'm functioning, but also a mental and more accurately a spiritual wreck right now, and limiting my Disqus and AVC time is very necessary. In an ideal world, things would be different. Sigh.
