I feel that work zones fail to communicate WHEN workers are actually working on the road. If a work zone is 5-10 miles long or more in larger projects, and speed limit is reduced to 55-60mph for the entire stretch with no one working, you’re not going to get compliance from me or anyone else. I think speed limits in

which is like 85% of the time in these never ending zones.

Me three. I’m fine with brutally heavy duty enforcement, but only when work is being done. Otherwise it’s just a money grab.

I came to say the same thing.  It is ridiculous that the reduced speed limits for construction remain in effect even when there are no workers working.

I know it’s easier to ticket for speeding but I would rather see ticketing for phone use in work zones everywhere. Tickets for using your phone while driving should be steep and undisputable with photo evidence.

Hell yes they should be working at night! Pay them more if you have to. If there is “no money” to pay them more, then they should raise business taxes to do it because the time employees spend sitting in traffic is costing businesses millions per day.

Stricter enforcement of actual work zones would be great, but only under the right conditions

I have nothing against automatic ticketing in construction zones, JUST TURN THE FUCKING CAMERAS OFF WHEN NOBODY IS WORKING.

Automatic tickets? FUCK THAT!

How about local DOT actually put some work in and PLAN when construction will take place. Stop having abandoned construction zones at random hours of the day / night. Also just stop building more lanes, that creates more traffic, that wears down the roads, that create more construction

inflation isnt real, its called “price gouging”

Group 1 automotive net profit margin in March 2023 was a WHOPPING 4.2%.

Oh, why then “are forecast to grow by 55% through the year” and “Bank of America analysts gave buy ratings to Ford, GM, Ferrari, Lucid Motors and Rivian based on their latest earnings estimates.” if things are so rough for them?

It’s even more absurd than that. Car manufactures routinely impound thousands upon thousands of unsold cars when the next year’s models are released. Why? Because it’s more profitable to destroy the unsold models and write them off than it to sell the older model at reduced prices in place of what they could have

Okay, but steel isn’t up 5%, it’s down from last year. And so is the price of chips. So are the prices of a lot of things.

“One day, when all these useless politicians (on both sides) stop their pissing matches over who can screw whose base over more, I might be able to get an EV, that I can charge at a convenient place, for less than my yearly salary. Maybe even, dare I say, get a rebate?”

the sale price of the car must not be more than $25,000"

Oh... what a bunch of jackoffs.  God I hate Elon. I really do.  I’d like to wake up tomorrow and read he has blasted off for mars.  If he can take the equally repugnant Peter Theil with him it would be great.

Just pull a few fuses or leave them in “valet” mode. Watch as they creep away at 20 mph with the pedal to the floor.

You’re assuming that most people can afford the car outright.

I think Cameron’s going to pull this off. Everyone I know has been talking about seeing the sequel to the 13 year old middling, gimmicky special effects movie about cat people.
