As lame as I think these are, when I was spending some time in Germany I remember reading that they were rated at around 85-90 MPG on the European cycle. Much Smart(er) than the gasoline models we have here, if you ask me.

A beat-up 240, sedan or wagon. It could take a lickin', such as this one that had a wood-burning stove installed.

Any sort of Subaru wagon. Four doors, space in the back for a stroller, all-wheel drive, reliable, womanly enough for a mom and manly enough for a dad, and a stellar safety record to keep the kiddos safe.

How about rolling over a curb in the middle of a turn? If I had a nickel for every time I've see someone in a Camry (for example) try to take a turn in a parking lot just a littttttle too tight...makes me cringe. Whole rear end of the car just hops up in the air. Ouch.

What it's really going to have to come down to is finding a deployed US armed forces member who is stationed over there and chose to ship his or her Marauder with them. Or, we could meander a Panther forum and trick a member into enlisting...

Does it count as a jeep if it includes an extra axle and costs as much as a single family home?

Looks like it's in great shape. Toyota pickup truck with reasonable mileage that can still likely take the beating from hell and survive? Under 10? Not a bad deal, I say NP.

Gonna go with the late F-body, LT1/LS1 Camaros equipped with the T-56. Plenty of durable burnout power, a great sound, and CHEAP as they come. They're also just very, very cool.

Can't wait for a diesel version!

See, I can understand the novelty of having a unique plate. I don't think you need FOUR HUNDRED options to choose from, but it's nice to have a selection. For the longest time Maryland offered only one or two options aside from this atrocity:
