Oh, Midway, which I forgot to add....

A former colleague of mine is an historian. He had read German transcripts of that discussion, and it is pretty much word for word from what is in the movie.

I think that was part of the infrastructure bill, lots of stuff got slipped in.

I watched Midway for the umpteenth time last night actually.  Love it.

I love that movie. I hate that it almost completely ignores that Canada had a beach on June 6, but it is still pretty great.

So, people don’t normally remove their shoes when they enter a home and have to be reminded?  Is walking around in someone else’s house in shoes something people in the US midwest do?  Is it something ‘Irish’ people do?  I’m so confused.

I was about to reply to this comment, then a popup for a fucking vacuum came up followed by a fucking popup for a survey about something I don’t care about and finally I was asked if I wanted to join the AVClub newsletter. Basically I forgot what I was going to type because of all of the fucking bullshit.

The thing is, so many people misuse apostrophes that I doubt this will have any effect whatsoever.

I think we all win in that case really.

Each Christmas Eve since probably 2006 or so, we four choose a theme and make dinner. We all have to make something. Recent themes have been the 70s, street food from around the world, pub food, fusion etc. Sometimes we’ll pick a cuisine.

I know my posting this is, at best antithetical to what comes next but, could we not maybe just fucking ignore this attention seeking asshole? Or stop calling him by that stupid fucking nickname?

I’ve clearly been out of the proverbial loop, or lasso I guess.  I’ve never heard this term.  Apparently I am the only one.

There are so many flaws in the experimental design.  I’ve actually used it as an example in a methods class.

You can find every episode of Winds of War on Youtube. It’s harder, next to impossible, to find War and Remembrance. It’s floating around out there though.

Whenever anyone says the word ‘baby’ my wife and I say ‘baahaaaby?’ like he did.  Nobody else gets it.  This makes it more fun...
