Say what you will about Garden State…
…but its soundtrack introduced me to The Shins and my love for them is what got me into music. So there.

Love the drums.
I can't say enough good things about FR's drummer. Between him and the guy from The National, emotional indie rock is killing at the kit.

I agree that this album feels less emotional. Which was bound to happen considering the last one felt like a punch to the gut. Still, this is a really good album from a capital "G" GREAT band.

Headphones up
This is definitely one of THOSE records. I like it.

Shutter?
I barely know her!

I'm intensely nostalgic for a bunch of these songs, quality notwithstanding.

Never ever have I ever felt so sad…
The way I'm feeling, yeah, you got me feeling really bad.

Not that Ghostbusters has any flaws…

I'd describe the film as "woolly."
I think the majority of people embrace Ghostbusters because of its flaws, not in spite of them. Its scattershot nature is EXACTLY what makes it popular. It's endearing.

Here goes…
Weezer (Blue) = A+
Pinkerton = A+
Weezer (Green) = B+
Maladroit = B
Make Believe = C
Weezer (Red) = D-
Raditude = F

@Special Patrol Group: I'm having the complete opposite reaction. These last two abominable releases have transformed "Make Believe" into a listenable album and make "Maladroit" and "The Green Album" seem like mid-period masterpieces.

I always thought Baumbach's "Kicking and Screaming" was very Stillman-esque (and not just because of Chris Eigman). One of the very best films about post-collegiate aimlessness (along with "The Graduate," of course).

"I told you… DON'T call me Shirley."

Gentle Herpes, I'd be interested to listen to one of your EPs. Knock one out over the weekend and send it on over. I'm sure it'll give the "trifling" Britt Daniel a run for his money.

Ooh, they have the internet on computers now.

An oversight.
"I Want You" by Elvis Costello. If I'm not mistaken, it was recorded in the midst of a messy divorce.

I like to think of The Bends and OK Computer as Radiohead's version of Rubber Soul and Revolver.

"T.B. Sheets" is mind blowin'!

"Hold ourselves together with our arms around the stereo for hours…"

Is anyone here…
…into Spoon?
