Depending on how rusty/nasty your exhaust pipe is, you’ll want to sand that sucker down with medium-fine to very fine sand paper. Whatever color the pipe was before you started, you want that thing to look like shiny bare metal and be super smooth before you start painting.

The less dense the gases, the less work the engine has to do pushing them out the exhaust system. Cooling exhaust gases increase parasitic loss, the engine has to pump harder to clear the pipe. Scavenging relies on the momentum of the intake & exhaust gases. Increasing velocity & density will both improve scavenging.…

Truth. One of the few things that a gas grill is good for. Why take the time & effort to start charcoal to warm up pre cooked meat? Gas is hot enough to get the perfect sear & crisp. Or a plumbers torch if you’re only cooking for one.
