Is it just me, or is anyone that writes “the USA” a complete moron?

Does each congressperson/Senator get a budget for this kind of thing, and some of them choose to spend it other ways? Or do some just not bother to request the money to pay interns? How does it work?

I never understand why someone as rich and previously successful doesn’t just buy an amazing house in some beautiful place and just lounge by the pool and eat great food and go for walks and adopt a bunch of dogs and support artists and contribute to charities.

I would wager that more than half the world’s population handles things in this manner. But I’m not googling that at work.

In many parts of the world, people use a cup of water in this way instead of toilet paper.

I definitely believe that all workers are better off in a strong union, but in West Virginia, public employee unions are very limited in their legal rights to bargain for better wages and working conditions. That did not stop tens of thousands of teachers from winning significant pay raises by striking.

But there are a ton of people out there with a ton of talent who don’t get the breaks and second chances that she’s had.

The stuff she discussed from earlier in her career in this interview was pretty shocking. When she was a state legislator she asked a more senior (male) colleague for tips on getting something passed, and he said “bring your kneepads.” Another colleague publicly and on the record called her a whore.

Seems like it would be helpful for city governments to pass ordinances that say that police must turn over bodycam footage immediately upon request to any person who appears in the footage.

I think of myself as solidly upper-middle class in a pretty expensive part of the country, and I am nowhere near the income levels from this graphic.
