I think, weirdly, the best social commentary this show has done yet was Ken’s slowly recognizing and dreading the world he’s creating for his kids. It’s a classic, uniquely GOP trait: a total, biological resistance to empathy... until something happens to them personally. Whenever you hear any of these right win

I was just about to say this. ATN doesn’t actually control the election count, and they calling it early by mistake, before it’s revealed that Jimenez actually won, can set up the end of Waystar Royco and the end of the kids controlling the company. The share prices plummet and Mattson buys the whole thing for much

I think this may be why they chose the one-episode-one-day gimmick for this season — since the story must wrap up within two days of showtime, we can assume that Mencken will become the next president and block the GoJo deal. Any legal challenges that could change the result prior to Inauguration Day would happen

Maybe this is just copium on my part, but I don’t actually think ATN calling it for Mencken will actually make him win. Part of the Roys’ whole journey is them learning that they are not, in fact, their father: they have immense power, of course, but they cannot bend the entire world to their whim just by saying so. I

i think the reason we aren’t reacting that way is because we like it and think it’s good.

Also, now that this is in my head, I’m imagining a version of BARRY in which Rip Torn played Fuches.

I thought the line of the night went to Roman:

HBO taking pot shots at Rip Torn (RIP Rip). Artie helped build that network god damn it!

There was so much to take in with this episode.

I felt like i was reacting/grieving in real time with the characters for a bit in the beginning. My first thought is Tom is playing a horrible joke to get Roman to go to that meeting. Just an incredible episode from everyone involved. Sarah Snook put up Wilt numbers

Followed by the long wait before anyone remebered Connor.

Knocked the wind out of me.  That long walk when Kendall went to find Shiv.

Her longing was palpable and so genuine, just a remarkable performance.

I really appreciate the Bernstein family having a sense of humor about it and playing along.

pretending Lydia Tar is a real person is still funny to me

Bring out the girls!

I find it impossible not to read “Don DeLillo” as Don DiMello. Andy Daly, you’re too good.

EVERYONE READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH OF THIS IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE.
