Will any of this ever be available outside CBS All Access. Legally I mean. I refuse to pay for another streaming service just to watch one show.

Wow... those are some pretty big names in a very interesting concept!

This seems more like a performance piece than a product.

I’d love to be fully invested or interested in one of these projects. It’s just they always get shut down before they actually happen. As such I think it’s pretty reasonable to be excited for something and immediately temper that knowing it won’t be around long. It bothers me greatly, UE zelda games, star wars games.

And meanwhile your first response upon seeing a fan project is to draw as much attention to it as possible so Disney notices it and has to go out of their way to shut it down for legal reasons.

It’s often hard not to temper any natural enthusiasm at these, considering how few of them reach completion unmolested. Even great stuff like AMR2 gets nixed after release, and you have to slink around to get it.

Because calling attention to it is exactly the worst thing you can do to these things. These fans/modders need to learn to keep their mouths shut until the project is finished and out on the internet. If no one ones about it, it can’t get C&D’ed. Once it’s been released, then they can get all the letters they want,

Pretty sure people are just tired of never getting to actually play completed version because of C&D....

Agreed. It makes me wonder if perhaps it would be a good idea to wait to report on them until these projects are done, with final builds out (and torrentable). That way no C&D in the world can truly make it disappear, yet sites like this still get to cover it (and the IP owner’s legal team can even claim they

dogbar more eloquently covered my intended sentiment, but the quality of the project is frankly clearly obvious. I’m very grateful you’re bringing this kind of stuff to our attention because I loved Rogue Squadron on 64, and would kill for a remake. The truth of the matter though is that there seems to be a pretty

Thank you, exactly. I understand 100% Mr. Plunkett’s prerogative in reporting on this obviously noteworthy gaming subject, but there’s definitely a Heisenberg effect at work, especially when it comes to Kotaku due to its high profile...

Dogs are technically not allowed in bars in my city. One time, a newspaper ran a listicle of all the best dog-friendly bars in town. The city promptly visited those bars and warned them against allowing dogs, making them dogless.

I think what sawbone is suggesting is that you’re pointing out the best dog-friendly bars.

Probably since reporting on these sorts of projects in the past has lead to them getting C&D

So basically Epic pulled some shady and manipulative trickery and didn’t tell people ahead of time, and then when companies said, “Hold up! We didn’t agree to this!”, Epic tried to paint it as those companies being unreasonable?

Or he could have spent nothing and kept his stock springs.

I guess their jobs are to determine when he should and shouldn’t wear a shirt and appling copious amounts of baby oil.

My takeaway: Safaree has a stylist?!?

That’s the key problem with the article - not even allowing for basic adjustment before reviewing.

The Epson projector picture is TOO bright? That’s the first time I’ve ever heard a reviewer complain about that one. You can turn a projector’s brightness down in a dark room, kinda hard to turn it up in a bright one...
