The level of hypocrisy with this group is the same as in my city. A Christian group was given a grant to combat sex trafficking in order to “save vulnerable women”. Now does my city have a trafficking problem, yes. But they decided to raid and shut down the strip clubs putting the thousands of dancers, waitresses,

Well yes, but paying a stripper to do her job is significantly less shitty then sneakily filming and outing her. So yeah, every paying customer who isn’t actually committing sexual assault is actually morally superior to this particular group of shitty SWERFs. That might not say a whole lot about the customers, but it

This is an extreme version of an argument I’ve heard many times before: that we need to protect women from sex work. And I have seen this given a feminist slant, on the basis that it’s the patriarchy that commodifies women’s bodies in the first place. However, the whole thing seems to be based on a logical problem:

This is always the kind of feminism I struggle with. Now I’ve always thought there was this grand myth of the correct kind of feminism as how do you really determine that? However, just deciding a group of women are automatically victims and then continuously ignoring their voices because they need to be protected due

It’s not even that, but they literally paid men to film women without their consent in order to prevent exploitative men from taking advantage of women.

There are so many social programs that could help lessen the amount of sex workers if that is something people want. Why not focus on helping society rather than making things worse for vulnerable people. I don’t think sex work will ever go away but things could be done to make it safer. Most the young women that I

Honestly, I find the idea that sex work is inherently and uniquely exploitative ridiculous. Because under capitalism, what work isn’t exploitative? Why is it more demeaning for a woman to make money off of sex than any other form of labor?

They’re just conservatives at this point. Dig through their funding and you’ll probably find a big fat check from an American evangelical group because that’s who’s funding the TERF stuff, too.

This group uses the same logic as “evict women who live with abusive boyfriends” like that would help.

WTF? What’s next, raping women to expose rape culture?

Not buying that these are feminists in the least

Are we sure Cancel Culture can’t be a good thing? I’d like to cancel these assholes, please.

Ah, yes, the cornerstone of every feminist movement, “women don’t know what’s best for them, WE know what’s best for them”

It should be noted that there’s a huge overlap between groups like this (SWERFs) and TERFs. A quick perusal of their twitter feed found a retweet of an article discussing how dangerous allowing trans women to compete with other women in sports was.

Because if there’s anything feminism is about, it’s shaming women and limiting their choices. Great job, Not Buying It!

WHAT TELL US MORE

EXACTLY. I don’t know when the “I don’t need no stinkin’ expert” phenomenon began and I can only hope it’ll reach its zenith soon, but I wish people would even consider the notion that a layperson cannot correctly assess everything. If you are even remotely familiar with diagnostic criteria, let alone discerning it in

“I’m not a doctor or a psychiatrist but I’ve spoken with Natalia and I believe her. If you’re asking me if I think she is 30, that’s ridiculous.

Wait, is this a thing? I once had a 15-year-old boy in my summer school class who made me feel uneasy for some reason I couldn’t put my finger on, and he turned out to be a 22-year-old Ukrainian national who’d overstayed his visa and was paying some family to “adopt” him. He’s now in prison on a bunch of charges.
