I own 8 Dreamcast console and they've all received heavy use over the years, I had many friends with them too and this is the first I've ever heard of overheating problem or a blue screen of death...

A quick google search for "Dreamcast overheating" and "Dreamcast bsod" turned up nothing about problems with the console.
