The thing that made the SNES special was that Nintendo knew that it was a pretty crappy piece of hardware so designed it from the beginning with the idea that you could expand it dramatically on the cartridge itself.

Not in Japan where there hasn’t been inflation in decades.

The anime is so good.

I was fine with this until the weird normal people. I don’t think I can play anymore with the clashing art styles.

One of my most vivid memories was waiting in the hospital playing Sonic for the Game Gear after my friend was hit by a car.

This statement says so much about the Japanese game industry:

My girlfriend works at an eye doctor’s office. This old woman was pulling in to get checked to see if she could still drive. Instead of pushing the break pedal, she pushed the gas and in her panic slammed down until she ended up in an exam room pinning a doctor and a patient against the wall. Needless to say, she

Those characters are disgusting looking.

A best game ever contest that doesn’t even include M.U.S.H.A. is wrong from the start.

You’re right. I completely forgot about the Amiga.

Yeah, but John Carmack programmed this in a few nights for hardware that wasn’t supposed to be able to do this sort of thing. It’s not like this is a finished product that’s been optimized. It’s not meant to look good. When they sent this to Nintendo, they were basically letting them know that this was possible on a

Before anyone shits on this for being ugly or incomplete, this is essentially the first tech demo for smooth side-scrolling done on a western PC. While Japan had machines like the X68000, which was basically a CPS arcade board converted to a general purpose PC, most PCs of that era were designed for business

You owe it to Classic Game Room to buy one.

Are you attached to the US version because the Japanese version is like 20 dollars. Even the US version isn’t that expensive. I want to buy gifts for you. You’re easy. Unless you meant Saga, in which case you can’t have my copy. :)

An MVS is a lot better nowadays because the games are more affordable. AES are nice because they’re obviously designed for the TV but unless you have a shitload of money the MVS is the way to go.

Lately I’ve been collecting retro Japanese gaming PCs. So, I’d like either an MSX2 or a FM Towns.

They need to let Kiryu retire and take care of orphans already.

This is the greatest.

That’s probably what it is. You’d have to be really weird to go to Japan and go to a game center with only your native currency. Video game companies have a lot of connections with the Yakuza right? This is probably some ridiculous way for them to smuggle money into the country.

Bidets are awesome. One of the best things about my time in Japan was sitting on a heated seat and having water sprayed in my ass.
