I find any auto with 6 or more gears quite annoying as it is always changing gears at unpredictable times making it difficult for me to drive it smoothly or keep constant torque while driving in slippery conditions.  I don't mind the 4 speed auto in my Oldsmobile as it is easy to predict the gear changes and direction

And the MOST annoying situation is when a DCT has pre-selected in one direction, and you actually ask it to do the opposite. Feels like a fucking ETERNITY while it figures it out, shuffles things around, and gets with the program. Drives me nuts every time I drive a VW with a DSG, they simply do not work with my

1st Gear: I’ve worked for big companies. I’ve seen these sort of things. Here’s how it works:

Of course the usual.

I didn’t know they still had 80 board members left who were obligated to buy special edition Lincolns.

I don’t get that argument. Everyone in my family (and virtually everyone I know) has always bought manual cars, and they never saw a problem with driving them even in bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic.

My dad bought an automatic Volvo a few years ago, and he constantly wishes he had chosen a manual instead. His next

With car manufacturers doing cut away cars. This really interests me to see how they do it. Like which spots to cut away. The repaint and polish. What tools they are using? Do they grab the car off the factory floor then start cutting? Lol

May I add $74,032 in options and get an amazing analog clock for the dash? Can you fit yourself into the frunk? How fast does it go in reverse? How quickly do notice someone if they roll their eyes at you because you’re dressed solely in Porsche Design clothing/accessories? Can you do a front handspring off the roof

My guess is the actual reason is revealed in this statement:

They’ll probably sell infinitely more of the 4-cylinder models, with a handful of the I6 models going to Toyota collectors that want to add to their Supra collection.

The problem is a Z4 is just the small BMW roadster.  The Supra is Toyotas halo sports car.  It should be uniquely Toyota.

They don’t care about any of us buying it. Most of us are second and third buyers. Focus groups are all old men who will actually buy it first for $60k. That’s why the styling is this.

They aren’t, they are NOT saying that Toyota is better than BMW.

I’m going with, “BMW decided we can’t have the same power as the Z4, so they reflashed the ECU and handed us the package.”

To be fair, in a straight line, this should be faster thanks to AWD. And when the ground goes rocky and soft, this should be more capable.

Because they can't see out of their windows?

I know what you mean. Sadly I’m in a bind bc I will NOT buy a car with an auto transmission, nor will I buy a heavy sports car :-(

I mean if you don’t want to pretend it’s a sports car it seems like a decent and comfortable way to get around. I personally I think a sports car that doesn’t offer a stick it’s kind of like an impotent pornstar but hey, some people can’t drive and I guess they deserve cars too.

I’m a lifelong BMW owner, underrated yes, but compared to Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs? It’s not on that level.

The only problem is that there are often no smaller cars slotted in below the ever-growing ones. Or if there are, they’re base economical ones like the Honda Fit. There’s no Fit Si to replace the old Civic Si now that the new Civic is the size of the old Accord.
