I remember hearing a story of a guy who, after a day of surfing, was heading home in his VW Bug and the throttle cable broke. He took the cord off the surf board and ran it from the carb, out through the deck lid, around the side of the car and in the driver's window and controlled it his left hand.

I've been doing a little research on this and so far I think I know the general location. I've gotten from 2 different sources that this dealership was located on the part of Laurens Rd called the "Motor Mile" and sat on the spot where there is now a Pep Boys. Still looking for some more information.

E series. Powerful (relatively), spacious, clunky, inconspicuous and they just keep on going (with a little maintenance)
