You’re very right about it being a deconstruction, but none of that is why the last two seasons were so bad (not just received poorly—they were bad). I don’t know how often I and so many others can reiterate this: It’s not what happened that pissed me off, it’s that it wasn’t earned.

This is my biggest issue with the resolution of the White Walkers, especially since this article focuses on the pilot.

I have no problems with the theory of Danny’s turn - which I’d been anticipating since the mid-2000s - I just have a problem with all of the storytelling decisions in the last few seasons. Everything felt rushed, arbitrary, superficial, and poorly thought-through, with events driven less by the demands of character,

Yes this. I watched every season over and over and since GOT ended I have not watched a minute of it.

I finally hit upon something. I have no problem with where any of the characters ended up. It was the journey along the way. Whatever reasons they had for doing 13 episodes in 2 seasons instead of 20 or even 18, it was a mistake.

Dany making a heel turn? Totally get it. She always had crazy eyes. We just approved of

There’s the idea, and then there’s the implementation. The last season in some benny hill fast forward shattering all sense of geographical, temporal and psychological progression. Plus, the endorsed fantasy clichés that did also contribute to the series success : the tits-and-gore shock value that established Game of

Not even being hyperbolic, I have never had a show I loved as much as Game of Thrones and was so disappointed in how it ended. I normally regularly rewatch my favorite shows from time to time, but the last season left such a bad taste that I haven’t done that with GoT.

Why would anybody put an ALF next to an alligator pond?

They’ve made fun of Cuomo and Newsome a lot, including later in that Weekend Update segment you mentioned. Is it possible that you just are inventing ways to make your ideology seem victimized because you know deep down that there’s absolutely nothing worth defending in your actual beliefs?

They actually had more about Cuomo than they have about Gaetz - two cold open appearances, and Update jokes, whereas Gaetz got one cold open and then some Update jokes.

1. I thought the star trek skit was great.

They could just Venmo him the money.

With T’Chala, it was hereditary. he knew he was in line for the suit and the powers, but he was prepared his entire life for it, including instilling a sense of responsibility for his people as the price for his power. He also has the strongest support network in the MCU, with a loving family, close friends, and loyal

Interesting choice to have Wyatt take the serum OFFSCREEN. We all knew he was gonna do it; but until he bent that metal, we didn’t know he had done it. There was a nice moment where someone – was it Sam? – saw that he had powered-up, and you could see them reassess.

To be fair, Bucky spent 60 years as a brain-washed murderbot and John Walker didn’t. It’s not *that* hard to figure out why one of them was mandated therapy and the other wasn’t.

In fact, the way that the characters deify Steve as the only person to respond well to the serum feels remarkably unfounded.”

“Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes?”

If this is Fisher not being cryptic, maybe he should go back to being cryptic. Because if this is the whole story basically boils down to:

They should do a bit where the very first time he mentions Henry Cavill, Cavill calls in moments later and just puts a stop to it immediately.
