So somewhere in there is a loss of morality—a mediocrity. You know, I think when Clinton ruined the presidency, it certainly made my point of mediocrity. We never pick a president who is above, we pick somebody we identify with: the lowest level, the most common.

I'm usually not the person who "ships" people, but man, if I could choose between a real life x-fighter and a scene in the movie of Finn+Poe getting some surprise hardcore x rated hokeypokey action (just to annoy the xeno/homophobic racists who boycotted the last two)… i'd choose the latter one.

As a fan of psychological horror (it follows, babadook, the vvitch) that almost goes into thriller territory, it always bugs me when most of the people think of "gore = horror" cause I like being scared in movies but not grossed out. There is a good quote from Stephen King on that topic on how he views the distinction…

The fact that JJ still has to talk to executive producers in "private meetings and private phone calls" about including a same sex relationship shows that we're still not quite there yet, even if it got better the last few years.
