It reminds me of the Simca my mother drove when I was a kid.
I had to drive a Hornet (the same platform as the Eagle) for two years as a company car. It was a horrible piece of crap. The entire fleet was a mess, with about a third of them at a time in for repairs.

I will be very disappointed if there’s no white roof/flares/bumpers/grille option. And some of the classic colors.

I’m disappointed the fender flares aren’t shaped more like the originals. Now they look like generic aftermarket parts. I’m also disappointed the taillights look rather Jeepish.
It seems I only have the problem with pumps in California with their extra nozzle cover thingie. I have to find the magic nozzle angle and depth, and hold it in that position the entire time.
Having no plans to ever leave the country, to expand your horizons, to add to your knowledge, to have great memories is a dumber thing to do.

Yes, WiscoProud, I’m 60+. Where I lived (the suburbs of major cities on both coasts) there were rarely pickups in the family driveway—unless it was a repairman making a call. That was true until, oh, the early 90s or so. The story is probably different in other parts of the country.
I think it’s another case of everyone wanting a vehicle they couldn’t have, but then, when it’s real, they realized they didn’t want it enough to actually buy it.
“Trucks should cost more than cars...” Funny how things have changed in my lifetime. Cars used to be the symbols of status, success, power, while trucks were seen as bare-bones tools of the lower classes.

I can’t speak for overlanders, but in the nomad culture there such a variety of vehicles, from bicycles to big RVs, it’s easier to use the generic “rig.”
