Oh, I will say though that in many cases it is reverse among the first generation Mexican community in the US. Because poorer Mexicans tend to immigrate to the US they tend to be darker and in these communities make fun of the light skinned Mexicans.

My family is generally medium-toned with a few fair toned people, but one of my aunts is quite dark with black hair and grew up with the older people in her family (including her own parents) saying that she was "still very pretty even though she has dark skin."…

This is an ignorant comment. After school care is essential to young kids safety. I worked at one and ours was particularly about gang and drug prevention because it's a SERIOUS ISSUE among kids in our area when they are out and about without adult supervision and it's certainly and issue in other areas.
