Sadly, I sometimes find that the alternative to what many might call "heavy-handed" (in some form) is "massive corporate product written by committee in an attempt to not offend anyone's sensibilities and, therefore, not cause them to think." Although, I guess somewhat to your point, many films can be pretty

It seemed more like he thought he was making a reasoned point with the walking strawman of a religious person that he wrote for Kristen Wiig.

In forms of satire or comedic notions regarding expression? Oftentimes, yes. By showing how "the other side" would be perceived if it behaved similarly, one is often able to stress how wayward the original "side" potentially is. Or is at least able to cause some people to consider the complexities of "both sides"

So you're saying that you're actually pro-pollution but you just don't want to make a big deal about it? Okay. I can see that.

And theism isn't?

It can sometimes be difficult or painful but I feel one can be a fan of the show without being a fan of Hannah.

So you mean there's an alternate universe where we might have been spared of this horror?

Yes. This. This exactly. I made a diagram about how much this but it just charts facts and draws no firm conclusions regarding quality.

It was.

The X-Files "universe" already addressed 9/11 six months before it happened. It wasn't aliens. It was members of the US government hijacking an airliner to crash into the World Trade Center and blaming it on terrorists so they could start a war in order to make money.

I blame it on the 1997 Kurt Russell film Breakdown. Which, to me, is God.

You're right. It's God's fault. I BLAME GOD.

Best Actors see a salary bump of roughly $3.9 million, whereas Best Actress winners’ salaries increase by barely $500k.

Eh…the original film is an adaptation and this would be as well. Using the term "remake" doesn't change that so much except that one of these was in the same relative medium. And it's not like Gus Van Sant is doing it.

While I think that's absolutely valid information to point out regarding the historical context of the film, I also don't think any of that type of stuff should be considered relevant to Selma's playing/quality as a film. Far too often I think that many of these historical dramas or similar that are involved in the

It's on tons of them though…

Now that is a Best Picture nominee for sure!
