I wouldn’t hold your breath. GameFreak does not split Pokemon generations between console generations. They released games for GBA/DS when DS/3DS were months on the market (respectively). Diamond/Pearl and X/Y released around 2 years after their respective handhelds were available for purchase. Expect Switch support…

I have extreme doubts about #4. I know that there’s no backwards compatibility, but I think it might be against GameFreak’s interests. Sun and Moon are selling well on 3DS and announcing Stars for Switch would put a damper on them. Plus the fact that they’ve never split a game generation between console generations.
