Spouses, I’ve always felt, take you as you come. They know who you are when they marry you. Kids on the other hand, they don’t have a say and I think as a parent you have an obligation to tone down your life when you have kids because I’m not sure there's much worse than losing a parent at a young age.

According to that line of thinking, he was selfish and doesn’t care to be around to care for his kids and wife.
