Trump & Co are determined to destroy any credibility the US has with our allies.  Between Bush and Trump, other developed countries could be forgiven for never trusting us again.

Would a Trump aneurysm be good or bad?

My guess is zero. If anyone does go to jail, I expect it to be a Scooter Libby level patsy.

It looks like Trump and co are going to admit that they’re corrupt and see if election rigging and partisan fervor can carry them through.

Our system of government has some serious design flaws. The president should not be so powerful and it should be easier to remove him.

Fox News.

I think I prefer Elizabeth Warren, but I do sometimes feel like the party is fighting really hard to run another George McGovern.

Trump’s incompetence still shocks me. For a guy who’s been BSing his way out of legal and financial trouble for decades, he’s a terrible BSer.

I’m also concerned about various types of vote-rigging in 2020, but I think it’s too much to say that voting doesn’t matter. It’s self-defeating.

Turns out it was...Hillary Clinton/Robert Mueller, who are actually the same person!

He’s been almost totally incoherent since the 2016 election, at least.  Republicans don’t need any kind of coherent policy ideas to root for, they just need an enemy and vapid slogans to chant.

What do you mean “voting doesn’t really matter”?  You don’t think voting will matter in the 2020 election?

I remember multi-grain as being slightly sweet. I was doubting my memory because I haven’t had them in a long time.

Yes, and the parts you like say more about you than about the original document.

I don’t think Republicans would abandon Trump for moral reasons. I think they might abandon Trump if public opinion turns sufficiently against him.

I have the same impression about GOP behavior now, but I sense we might be at a turning point. It’s possible that Trump will become a burden to the oligarchic/xenophobic project, at which point a lot of Republicans could try to throw him under the bus.

It’s almost like all of those “jokes” about staying on for more than two terms weren’t jokes.

The Constitution and the Bible have an interesting similarity: the more someone bloviates about what they say, the less likely they are to have read them.

Is there anything Trump could do that would make Republicans stop defending him?  I can’t tell anymore.

I had some Nonino over the weekend and I like it a lot more than I thought. It’s not too hot, with some nice sweetness and just enough bitters notes.
