With their last 3 or 4 albums they started really overdoing the whole "Irish Punk" thing: putting bagpipes on every other song even if it doesn't work. And to be honest their last few albums hardly qualify as punk, more of a classic rock sound

With their more recent albums DM has become more a gimmick band. Their first two albums are still the best. But their live shows are so amazing and their choice of opening bands over the years always turns me onto something new: Darkbuster, Tiger Army, Blood and Whiskey…

Went to a radio festival in 96; 16 bands for $16. Needless to say all the bands were just staring to make it big: 311, Filter, and No Doubt who were still a rock band then. There's was actually a mosh pit for their only hit at the time, "Just a Girl." Couldn't imagine a mosh pit at a No Doubt concert now.
