Cue the dweebs pointing out the “best” team (as measured by what?) isn’t the team that wins the (Cup, Super Bowl, World Series, Finals) championship.

Now I don’t want to go off on a rant here, but . . .

Precisely!

No! Never 2 and a half. Then it becomes 2 and three quarters.

Couldn’t believe it.  That is some next level “concentration” there.  I mean, even if you didn’t see his foot is dangling by skin only, why would you not simply step around the guy laying on the floor???

Live in Detroit, and frequently take the family to Chicago for a long weekend. The last hour of the drive always sucks, stuck in heavy traffic, listening to kids whine “Are we there yet?”

Lived with two girls for a while, in a 2BR apartment. One was my girlfriend, the other a friend. Fantastic arrangement—till we broke up. She moved out, and shortly after, the friend did as well.

NCAA standard is 23 pieces.

Exactly. As someone on the road 2 nights a week, it’s as you say. Pretty sure the writer isn’t a road warrior.

10% per room bill? So the state/fed assumes tip income of $20 bucks a room (urban rates of $200/nt), 9 - 10 rooms a day, $50k/yr. in tip money (10 rooms x $20 x 5 days x 50 weeks)?

Like any other kid, I think you have to believe their grades until you have proof otherwise.

I get that, but how do they benefit in this scenario?  They’re expelled from the top school, get credit only for the work they’ve actually done themselves, and have to transfer to another school that will certainly take a CAREFUL look a their admission credentials.

When the scandal first broke, I put out a twitter poll on whether the institutions should kick out the students who were fraudulently admitted. I thought it would be overwhelming for expulsion, but turned out 2:1 in favor of letting them stay.

I did. And I wasn’t trying to discredit your theory, which has genuine merit. And yes, the line was odd.

I don’t even want to go down this road, but all I could think of when reading about the scandal was what kids got left out so these could get in?  How many kids that would value an education as more than a vlogging opportunity, and take advantage of the chance to improve their lives, are not in USC, or other top-tier
