I would counter that “Paths of Glory”, “All Quiet on the Western Front”, and “Full Metal Jacket” are much more anti-war than SPR.

My favorite episode to appreciate Gandolfini’s greatness is “Everybody Hurts”. Tony spends the episode in emotional crisis after finding out that Gloria has committed suicide, and tries to do a bunch of good deeds to convince his family and friends (and himself) that he is not a “toxic person”, trying to keep up the…
Eh, yeah I mean he is annoying, but I can’t imagine this movie without Eddie Furlong. When I was a kid, I thought he was kinda badass. Rode a dirt bike, smoked cigarettes, loved Guns n’ Roses. All very, very cool things to my 10 year old self.
I will die on this hill: Magnolia is PTA’s best film.
100%.
One thing I love about R&M is how much the characters’ dialogue may as well be a writer’s room session. I can see the writers trying to come up with time-travel idea and basically just deciding that they are never going to beat Futurama at this game so they need to figure out a different angle.
I like Grimes’ music, and I also like Tesla cars, even that weird triangle truck.
I thought that whole “believe women” thing was supposed to discourage us from coming up with excuses to discredit sexual assault victims, but go off I guess.
It is depressing reading these comments. These excuses are LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME AS THOSE from the Kavanaugh defenders. Questioning the timing of the allegations surfacing? Check. Questioning the victim’s motives for coming forward? Check. Asking why there aren’t more women coming forward who have been similarly…
Brett Kavanaugh didn’t have any other credible allegations against him beyond that of Dr. Ford.
You could say literally the same thing about the accusations against Kavanaugh. The accusations came to light just when he was being considered for SCOTUS.
RIP Big Tom Callahan
I make a lot of graphs.
It’s kind of weird to me that ‘Free Churro’ was the Bojack S5 episode considered for an Emmy that year. Not that it isn’t an incredible episode (it is), just that it’s not an episode that I would pick to represent the show as a whole from that season. I would have gone with ‘The Dog Days are Over’ or ‘The Showstopper’…
You said: “I have seen literally nothing (that hasn’t been doctored by the GOP campaigns) which would tell me that” Biden is in cognitive decline. I presented you with a video of a friendly interview by an MSNBC stooge in which Biden appears confused and scattered. The interviewer has to step in and try to help him.…
Stop lying to yourself. Here’s a recent interview where a noted Bernie hater asks him the softest of softball questions. And it is absolutely painful to watch. https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/watch/biden-criticizes-trump-s-coronavirus-response-he-should-stop-talking-81153605838
As a big Bernie supporter, I’m angry and depressed. But more than that, I’m afraid that the democratic party and its voters have made a colossal mistake. Joe Biden is very obviously in cognitive decline and I have serious doubts that he can hold up in the grind of a general election. I don’t mean that to be mean or…
I paused the episode right after the Jason Segel/Bad Teacher joke, and as I was grabbing my clothes out of the dryer I had an uncontrollable fit of laughter.
I felt very similar...just kept thinking THIS is the movie everyone is so worked up about? Sure Joaquin is great, but I didn’t think it was a particularly great (or terrible) or memorable movie. It was like a solid B, maybe B+.
Well sure, Chapo became hugely popular and neatly tracked the stunning re-emergence of a political left, and was written about endlessly in both positive and negative terms....but come on, we all know that 2017 was “the year of Missing Richard Simmons”! I mean, that’s a podcast that had real impact.
