I really, really, doubt that the company would ever tell their support personnel that a call was not being monitored for precisely that reason. That said, given the option, I am going to opt out of that every time the option is given.

I don’t remember which company it was that I called support for, where I was greeted by that “Your call may be monitored for quality assurance” line but then it went on to give me the option to decline! AND, it didn’t disconnect me or anything when I did decline. I wish I could remember which company that was, but I

No, of course not. But that’s not what this was about. This was about creating a small, gene inactivating breakpoint, which CRISPR is actually really good at doing with decently high fidelity without too mny off targets. Including a homologous recombination repair construct is a whole other kettle of fish.

The City should eminent domain back all their fucking plants, and go into business for itself.

Then you should double check your gRNAs because you’ve done something wrong.

I agree with George Chruch. Assuming that the parents were, in fact, fully informed the backlash against this is absurd.

There was a little more editing than just a soundtrack swap, for example, in the original ad, the house’s Christmas lights are turned on, and in the edit, that part has been reversed so that they turn off - which helps the change of tone. But still, comparatively little effort to make it utterly terrifying.

Looks like something ripped straight from the opening titles of “The Expanse”.

As someone who just moved to San Diego for the foreseeable future - I look forward to never needing to even look at, or even think about, winter tiers again. Also, apparently, what is “winter”?

Not wanting to support an abuser’s career is hardly a “political reason” and if you think it is, fuck you.

I mean, the genocide thing kind of put me off thanksgiving a little. But also, you can only deal with your relatives’ low information political opinions for so many hours before you snap.

Gmail is NOT a fucking exception. Google just doesn't listen.

I don’t think this is even legally enforceable. The courts can unilaterally impose these decrees and use the US Marshall system to enforce them. The justice department’s consent is a courtesy and doesn’t need to be a legal requirement.

This is how literally all companies should work.

That’s a fair point, if that’s the argument the FDA makes hopefully there’s data to substantiate it (there probably is).

Except for the “easier to start” bit, which is a fair point, none of that was substantiated by the scientific review.

They already performed a scientific review that determined that there was no substantial difference in health outcomes between menthol and regular cigarettes, yet they’re specifically targeting menthol. So what “public health interest” is being served here exactly? Banning a substance after nearly 100 years, for no

I’ve never smoked a single cigarette (and personally think that they’re super gross) but this seems like ridiculous regulatory overreach from the FDA. Menthol has been added to cigarettes since the 1920s, and the FDA already concluded back in 2011 that Menthols were (generally) no worse than regular cigarettes https://

Johnny Depp is why I won’t seeing this movie.

Ban you from all Costco forever, truly a fate worse than death.
