@jupigare: A lot of times if you just type in your phone number on the credit card reader on self check-out machines it will work just fine.

@McP485: Because its done by the credit bureaus and they have you listed by your SSN, if they had you listed by name there would be too many duplicates.
@WaitForIt—DARY: The PDF exploit affects all iOS versions except 4.0.2 which was released specifically to patch it, this includes all 3.x.x versions. Also some non apple products were technically affected including some versions of FoxIt Reader which (I believe) have since been patched.
@Steven B Mohler: Unfortunately that's incorrect, the PDF exploit affects everything since (I believe) iPhone OS 2 or even earlier, and not just apple products, according to F-Secure "Some versions of Foxit Reader and the FreeType2 library [also] might be [affected]"
@Naserian: The short answer: No.
@MauricioHavok: Just an FYI there are plugins for safari (once jailbroken) that change your useragent which prevents that kind of redirect (most of the time.) You can also install a sbsettings toggle that switches the useragent back and forth by reopening safari.
@kapanak: You get an app (such as Navigon's or TomTom's) that uses preloaded maps, then you don't need a data connection... Or if you are going to shell out for one of those apps, you could just buy a cheap standalone gps, because even a cheap one is going to have a better antenna than a cell phone gps.
