A car movie without Nicolas Cage? Where do I sign up?!

Where are all of the Porchses? I thought they worked on a lot of Porchses at Best Buy.

Break the land speed record at Bonneville?

When I first read of this elsewhere, I had to question if the 1.5 mile track (runway) would limit his speed compared to the Salt Flats (3+ miles, right)... but I assume traction and stability more than make up for the lost distance if he's only under power for 25 second.

He has said on his site (thesmokingtire) that he is just riding along this year (in a Cobra R), and that they are not taping for his site or for The Car Show since Speed and MTV are taping the event. I think he mentioned it being nice that he can concentrate on partying and drinking this year.

He has to be trolling...

A co-worker who has an Evo affliction owns their SUV. That category of cars isn't particularly pretty, but that model is especially ugly.

You need to stick around here. We need more of this now, imho and this is hopefully what still gets a star around here. Very informative and well thought-out. I learned something and I didn't expect that in this thread.

I'm interested to see Matt's (thesmokingtire.com) take on this. He bought a Raptor and used it as a camera car and has argued how great it is under all conditions.

I've always really liked those weird little bast*rds, but they would roll over without applying much pressure at speed.

Good mattresses still have the padding on both sides...

You had a computer where the cores battled each other?! Cool!

Complaining (especially when you're wrong)... probably not a good way to earn a star here.

I seriously want to open a club called The Grocery Store.

Came here for this (because it's always the first thing that pops into my head regarding roundabouts)... leaving satisfied.

I never get tired of watching Stefan Roser push that RUF around the track. I sit and watch in awe as I slowly feel less and less worthy.

I got $20 on Saab meeting the Grim Reaper first, especially since it just became known that they can't pay their payroll.

So it will melt, flinging now-molten plastic around... before it catches fire. I hope someone at least catches it on video.

I worked over there (in Vitre) for a couple of weeks. It took most of my two weeks to get used to the long lunches (and long evening hours). I think I averaged 10-12 hours per day though... which is obviously not normal over there.
