Just require CDLs for vehicles over a certain size/weight.

Seriously. For 90% of the things that Americans use trucks for, both personally and for work, a VAN would be a far better vehicle. Which is why VANS are the work vehicle of choice in literally the entire rest of the world. Pickups are only really useful for a very narrow range of tasks.

Isn’t that what St. Louis malls are for? During Covid and at least a while after, Fords were stacked up at the mostly closed Mills Mall.

I absolutely hate bright dashboards at night. I am also one that hates when there is too much light inside of my car from any source. Not looking forward to when my next car will have a screen. And I will probably not be able to dim it enough. I also don’t doubt that having a dash that doesn’t dim enough as a reason

there is no better symbol of freedom, prosperity and strength than hearing ‘Welcome to Trump International Airport’ as they land on American soil

Funny, both of these are GM concepts. It is criminal that none of these were ever close to production, yet we got Celestiq.

Buick Avista:

not the best looking, but the Mazda Kabura and Chevy 130R were cheap RWD cars that could’ve beat the Toybaru twins to the market for young enthusiasts.

The “they took our jobs” crowd will say it should have been legal US residents doing the work, but I dont see a whole lot of them wanting these god awful jobs. We run on immigrants being willing to do the jobs the rest of us dont want, and for the good or bad, being willing to do it for less pay than we would be

I hope the readers here take note of the surnames and ancestry of the road workers who lost their lives here. Almost a year ago to the day (March 23, 2023) 6 workers were killed on another part of the 695 beltway when a car crashed through a work zone, and most of those workers were also from central America,

That Chevy should require a CDL to operate.

I think it was the fundamental shift that happened in the U.S. 55 years ago with the belief that a company’s only responsibility is to increase profits (thank you Milton Friedman). Most people still believe this, yet act surprised when cost cutting measures have negative consequences for the general public. It’s the

Bust ass one summer to pay tuition 🤣 What a boomer thing to say. Summer jobs have not covered tuition in decades.

This is in contrast to when people like to talk about how cutting taxes on the rich because they don’t focus on the individual (i.e., rich person gets richer) but like to focus on the economy (i.e., “trickle down”) even if it doesn’t work.

2nd gear:
Can we not? I am so sick and tired of seeing one article after another going on as if Trump’s already gotten the election all tied up. The man is a terrible person who is actively quoting Hitler and proclaiming himself dictator. The majority of us see this and will obviously not be voting for that piece of

You’d think cities would get tired of this-but they never do. NYC has paid billions out for police fuck ups.

I moved out of the city for two reasons, the crime and the fucking cops. I got grilled by the police because I called 911 because i saw a guy laying face down in my neighbors driveway. He had OD’d and they blasted him with Narcan and he was fine but somehow they thought I was a drug dealer instead of a concerned

Who pays to fix the bar back up? Who covers lost revenue, wages, etc, etc??

Likely he was probationary at THIS department, probably after quietly resigning from or being fired by another department. Guessing that he likely has a long history of being a cop.

Wonder why a 32 year old guy was on probationary/new hire status. Really wonder what department(s) he worked for prior. Also really wonder why he doesn’t work there any longer.

Interesting, raising your voice is causing a disturbance but crashing your 5,500 pound SUV police cruiser through the front wall is apparently not.
