How badly did Toyota kill the head room? As a tall person (6'6") I could fit in the previous generations of Prius, no problem at all. I’ve got a feeling I’ll no longer be able to fit with how much the roof line has been lowered.

I-80/I-94 between say Joliet, IL and Burns Harbor, IN. Unless you’re going through there at 4am, expect to deal with constant construction projects, slowdowns, backups, and incredibly heavy truck traffic.
MoDOT tries to do the fun messaging like “camp in the Ozarks, not in the left lane,” “leave the tailgating at the game,” “sober drivers are the real MVP, ” or “fans don’t let fans drive blitzed.” They tend to go a little overboard with Star Wars references around May 4th or if something new comes out though.
Missouri has the same problem. It’s not uncommon to see temp tags expired by a year or more. The problem is largely due to the fact that dealerships are incapable of collecting sales tax at the point of sale. Then the new owner goes to the License Office to get plates to find out they owe thousands of dollars in sales…
I could definitely do without the personal property tax, especially with how crazy used car values are. The taxes on my wife’s car went up by almost $100 in 2022 when traditionally they go down year after year.
Forgetting about sales tax is why there are so many cars with expired temp tags in Missouri. Dealerships can’t collect it at the POS (which is asinine), and people don’t have thousands of dollars on hand to pay it at registration time so they elect to ride dirty until caught. F&I guys at the dealership also shame you…
Same for me. I once had a salesman say he could have some of the foam removed from the driver’s seat cushion because he wanted the sale so bad. I immediately walked away. If a car doesn’t fit me, there’s no making it fit me.
I was headed back to college in the Upper Peninsula of MI after a weekend home in the Lower Peninsula on US-131. When I left it was raining and at some point it began to transition to snow. I was going about 70 mph in a 1991 Escort 5-sp manual on a slight curve south of Cadillac, when I hit a patch of slush between…
And not an “I did that” sticker to be found on the pumps.
Certainly not impossible, just depends on the car. Some have enough leg room but not enough head room, or vice versa. Being 6'6", the Golf was usually the sweet spot for me. Or sometimes the model with the features you want also comes with a sunroof, which then kills the head room. Lot’s of trial and error since…
Toyotas are the worst when it comes to headroom, especially if a sunroof is in play.
As a tall person (6'6"), I’d like to know how is the headroom? The Prius was always one of the few Toyota models with ample headroom and I have a feeling this new design probably killed it.
It’s a toss up between the Chevy Chevette and a 2003 Saturn Ion Quad Coupe.
The most fun I had in the snow was in two different cars. First was my first car, a 1985 Ford Crown Victoria. There was a 72-lane bowling alley near my house that had a wide open rear parking lot (no curbs, no light poles) that you could drift sideways the entire length of in that car.
It’s a shame that Ford never offered the Transit Connect with an HEV or PHEV drivetrain. Especially after the C-MAX was killed off.
Same here...6'6", 280, and more legs than torso. I think the only standard seat I can sit in these days are on Southwest, I usually have maybe 1-2" between my knees and the seat back in front of me. All of the other carriers, forget it. Knees jammed in the back and my legs start falling asleep in about an hour.
The old GM 2.5L Iron Duke 4-cylnder was probably the worst sounding engine I can remember.
The ability to spray windshield washer fluid over the rear-view camera lens on my Tiguan. When in reverse and using the rear wiper/windshield washer it activates a small jet of fluid to clear the camera lens.
At least for the manufacturers that do them well. Ford and GM’s have a good delay for quick darkness like underpasses and also come on when the wipers are on for a certain amount of time.
Favorite that I’ve owned: 2011 Golf TDI 6MT
