Yep. I dig the Accord option as well. I had a 2012 EX-L V6 sedan and loved it...until it got rear-ended by a Silverado and was totaled.

And that hasn’t been vaped all to hell. While it’s primarily a WRX/STI thing, it’s certainly a GTI/Golf R thing too.
Volkswagen’s auto start/stop feature. As an air quality professional I appreciate eliminating unnecessary idling, but VW’s system is clunky and most of the time I find myself only using it manually when I am at long lights or parked waiting on someone.
You should give the clip “Airport Hell” from Henry Rollins a listen. It was recorded pre-9/11 security theater, but it has generally aged well and we still have the same problems at the airport.
Had a Volkswagen Polo rental car for five days while in Ireland a couple weeks ago. It was a really enjoyable “slow car fast” situation. Handled the meandering narrow roads like champ. The 95 hp 1.0 L 3-cylnder, 5-sp manual pairing was adequate and we averaged nearly 47 mpg over 800 miles of driving.
Metro St. Louis just got a set of electric articulated buses added to their fleet. While they are much quieter than their diesel-fired counterparts, due to their sheer size on the road you can still hear them coming. Same whirring sound at low speeds as hybrid and electric passenger vehicles.
Agree about Temple Bar. Was in Ireland last week and spent our last two days in Dublin (was enough for us). It was cool to walk through and check out, but stayed away from the high prices.
We were always a GM household by default growing up since my dad worked there until retirement. Vehicles I remember:
If I recall correctly, I think the Borrego also debuted when gas guzzling SUV’s were falling out of favor because of high fuel prices. I think it got like 15 city/20 highway mpg with the V8. Only lasted two model years, 2008-09.
I got rid of one of my favorite cars because of the seats. My ‘17 VW Golf Alltrack S was a great car overall, but my low back and legs would cramp up on any trip over two hours...the joys of being 6'6". Didn’t find this out until my frequent 6-9 hour trips to visit family in Michigan. I thought about sourcing some…
Surprised no one has mentioned the Crosstrek yet. Subaru has to know they would print money with a turbocharged version.
SLMPD just needs to fold and start over. Bloated budget, more officers per population than similar sized cities, and continue to use the same tired tactics while expecting different outcomes.
I was quite impressed with STM in Montreal. Several subway lines, short wait times for buses, the 747 bus from the airport to downtown and a system wide 3-day pass is only $20. One of the few places I’ve been where the main problem was overutilization.
Couldn’t agree more. Every time I see long lines at Costco and Sam’s to save typically maybe 10-15 cents per gallon, I have to wonder how much of that savings they are idling away.
Splitting hairs here, but I think that Oldsmobile is an Eighty-Eight or an LSS.
Back in the day the Wendy’s Super Value Menu had a bunch of offerings for 99 cents. Junior bacon cheeseburger, junior cheese deluxe, 5pc. chicken nuggets, biggie fries, biggie soft drink, small chili, sour cream and chive potato, medium frosty, and side salad.
