This is one of my pet hatreds about H&M. Their changing rooms never have anywhere to put things! So all the stuff that doesn’t come on hangers is obviously thrown on the floor and then picked up by the staff and just put back out there.

“I mean, their street smarts are YOOOOGE. Tremendous street smarts from these women.”
Hoytzclaw faces a possible sentence of life in prison.
Fuck.
But right down the road at Hampshire, the officers aren’t state police. If you’re a student and assaulted on campus, you’re going to go to the organization you assume is going to help you — your school.
Even if they went straight to the police, those proceedings take way longer to the point that both the accuser and accused would probably be finished school before anything was resolved in court. Then everything Abwhorent said before me about student codes of conduct and keeping the campus safe.
That’s all I wanted when I lodged a Title IX complaint against another student during my undergrad years. I was scared, depressed, suffering from PTSD...the only thing I wanted the school to do was ban the perpetrator from campus. I knew the police wouldn’t be able to do anything to help because there was no DNA…
Um, I didn’t report either of my rapes because I felt dirty, ashamed, and did not want to relive what happened over and over and over again as required by an investigation. I also did not think I would be believed. Unbelievable people still question victims doing what they feel is best for themselves.
Won’t someone please think of the poor rapists??
It’s amazing how often people proclaim that rapists are the “real” victims of the rapes they commit. Owen Labrie’s parents made essentially the same argument—the possibility of facing consequences for raping someone was so traumatizing for the poor lad that he shouldn’t actually have to face any consequences.
It somehow feels even more tragic that she was believed by:
I made a mistake in the state (because Kansas City is not in Kansas) and want to let everyone know that if there’s a Dearborn in Kansas, the residents don’t deserve the criticism.
“Paden’s adult son, Anthony, has also been charged with sodomizing the victim. His case is currently pending.”
As someone who was assaulted by a person described by his defenders as “the most Christ-like person they know,” I feel I can say all these God-fearing folks are doing a terrible job encouraging conversion.
Dear Entire Town of Dearborn, Kansas,
True, though it reminds me of that PostSecret [yes, I’m a time traveler from 2007] where a woman said she sent her fiance’s ex-girlfriend a copy of their wedding invitation with the words “I WIN BITCH” written on it. And it’s like, if you spent your time, effort, and energy sending something like that...did you? Did…
Yeah my ex was cheating with a girl when he dumped me. After the breakup She sent me a mocking message on mothers day referencing an abortion I'd had that I assumed my ex had told her about. They weren’t even dating, and didn’t end up together, but fuuuck if I had her address she’d get some horseshit.
“In her broken English, she scripted several stanzas depicting me, the horrible woman who was crushing her husband’s soul, and she, the “little girl” who was in love with him and wanted to save him. For all the gibberish it contained (and there was A LOT), I was at least grateful to see that she could recognize that…
Given that sending someone whose husband left them for you any form of written communication is horseshit, I think this was an appropriate response.
