I disagree. He invested in what was represented as an authentic car. He should be able to keep that profit. If they had not committed (allegedly) fraud, he would have had that money to invest in some other way.  They are liable for the entire loss. 

I don't think I've ever read a more poignant story that is primarily about drugs and titties.
