Only two cents’ worth…
Only two cents’ worth…
But did they even guve out a fan favorite this year?
Check again: Jasmine didn’t know the J.Lo lyrics, and so the big difference in that lipsync was that Angeria did. Even Jasmine herself conceded that she was Team Too Much in the battler, and that’s what cost her. All of her opponents simply made better connections with the songs that they were performine, rather than…
My two cents: I’m a little peevish about producers making the decision to give the Janet Jackson number to Brooke Lynn rather than Coco Montrese, the latter of whom does Janet Jackson for a living in Vegas on the regular (at least in the time before…). Coco would have beaten that song up like an evil stepmother.
The casting choices for the women in Pray’s life read like a who’s who of African American TV sitcom women of eightes and nineties NBCl Jackee, Anna Maria Horsford, Janet Hubert, and then throw in Michelle Hurd for a little Law & OrderL SVU flavor.
As soon as it popped up on Netflix, something about just looking at the promotional material had me convinced that it wasn’t any good. Intuition? Maybe.
What happened to the Chavez review that was promised?
Really old gay man he (well, younger than RuPaul and slightly older than Carson Kressley)re; the flag/fan dancing is pretty old-school thing for gay men who were good at it up in the disco. Kind of campy, not unlike the queens that show up to discos with tambourines.
Narrative considerations. The competition is secondary for the most part. So much energy has been devoted to establishing Kandy’s character, so there’s got to be some sort of character arc that shows some kind of growth or maturation before they get rid of her.
And, naturally, the next episode is going to start with the blowout of a fight from Untucked…
The exact quote from Bella is “This is why I be hating straight white guys,” not “single white guys.” An important distinction, in my mind at least.
The To Wong Foo… reference with Trinity (as Patrick Swayze) and Monét (as Wesley Snipes) was killer cute.
Issa was the one dodging bullets this season, and it’s Condola that ends up pregnant? Okay.
My read is that Molly is supposed to reach a breaking point wherein she will ultimately develop some self-awareness andd, more importantly, actually listen to her therapist, who essentially spelled it out for her. It’s sad to think that it’s going to take all of the important, people in her life walking away from…
Entirely likely, though she did go back home to him after leaving the restaurant…
But knowing what we now know from the next episode…
Was the “series finale” notation in the HBO listings a Freudian slip? Somehow I don’t think so.
I didn’t make too much of Molly not being out with Andrew on a Sunday night (the block party was on a Saturday night, and we see that it’s January 26 in Issa’s phone multiple times) after spending an entire day together. These are two professional people who have to arrange date nights between their respective…
You are both correct.
I was screeching through the last act screeching for the writer’s head. It amazed me that Ricardo C. Lira actually typed that frecky dialogue into a word processor, with assistance from other writers and likely through multiple drafts, then printed it out and handed it to these innocent actors, who were forced to try…
