Saab. A great car company for us "other" guys, that had an expiration date from day one. They're dead, and I (a previous '87 900T owner) am very okay with it.

My VW is always in 2nd. Habit from my old Saab days. Putting the 5-speed Saab gearbox in 2nd before reverse allowed me to use reverse (as the synchro, or lack thereof was shot).

I owned an 87' 900T. That is one of the single most amazing innovations Saab brought to the automotive world en masse. I loved putting my keys down out of the way where they wouldn't make noise, there was no pressure on the ignition switch, etc, etc.

I commute 3hrs a day on a split 4-lane highway (two north, two south)...hogging the left lane at any point is a thermonuclear war offense. Tailgating will get you shot in some parts of this highway...18-wheelers are starting to understand if they can't pass quickly, they will wait for the majority of traffic to get by…
