I don't want to antagonize you because I am unsure if you are serious or not. But…. on the scale of things…. Ultimate Frisbee and Quidditch are kind of on the same scale when they compare to more mainstream sports. I mean I used to play ultimate a lot in college but seriously trying to claim you are better than them

I don't know, I've been on the AV Club boards for some time now (mostly lurking) and I think that comments on articles like this just tend to flow with how the first few comments go, if they are negative they tend to go negative after that, and positive tends to breed positive. I mean look at the response that the

Unfortunately in England that would "From chimpan-a to chimpan-zed" so it probably diminishes its value over there.

ignorance is bliss and bliss is for the ignorant

I've never experienced that, but maybe my tolerance for holding my bladder is crazy high.

It true but that only makes how painful the rhetoric is all the better. I don't know if anyone could actually troll as well as this guy is actually professing to believe.

Wow… have you gone into the main site? Because that is one wild ride that doesn't seem to end. I mean they rail against those god awful chick tracts, claiming they are satanist! How crazy must you be to think Chick Tracts are too liberal? Also they called the NIV translation of the bible the HIV. That is hilarious..

What about an Orchestra? They might not be able to play new stuff for infinity but the sheer volume of classical music would make it last a long enough time that you could still enjoy your favorites when they came around again. You just have all the sheet music on ipads or something.

I like reading Franzen's books I hate reading Franzen's thoughts on himself or anything else.

I think I could argue that you would eventually start to like soccer after a while (well depending on how assholeish the fans were) based on your enjoyment of the NFL. I generally believe that the idea of sport and competition is what really draws us into enjoying watching various sports and what determines what sport

I remember playing ultimate frisbee in college, we would play a couple times a week in the afternoons and there would always be a few hat guys and usually they ended up being the captains.

My biggest issue with Bastille and Imagine Dragons is that initially it is rather non-offensive, its kind of bland, kind of catchy until it gets played to death and spawns a bunch of bands that sound exactly the same, who then get played all the time and you can never tell which band is which. And it never ends!

I don't understand people who get up to use the bathroom during a movie. I mean I can kind of understand it at home but at the theater - you are paying to see this, you really can't hold your bladder for a couple of hours? I have a friend who does this and while I don't get pissed (I make him sit by the aisle) it just

I had a "friend" who got so pissed at the end of Inglorious Bastards because "that isn't what really happened"

I like to call Austin the West Berlin of the East Germany that is the rest of Texas.

I feel like pretty much the entirety of The Mountain Goats "The Sunset Tree" was an ode to a shitty father, I mean if you are going to put two of the songs from it on there you might as well put the whole album too. Especially because Pale Green Things is heart-wrenching and Dance Music is fantastically upbeat until

Todd, I saw you posted that the viewership for this feature is going down so I just wanted to chime in and say thanks for doing these. I was following along but my HBO Go subscription lapsed (okay it wasn't mine it was my in-laws) but I am still reading along and can't wait to catch up when it goes to Amazon Prime.

After being introduced to The Mountain Goats through surprisingly Heretic Pride, I eagerly dived into the rest of his discography but his older stuff didn't really hit home with me until I saw him in concert, and then started following him on twitter. I don't know if I have even seen an artist as genuine as John

Not as good as Wye Oak's cover of Strangers but I can dig it.
