Honestly most men don't admit it. And won't to what I say now. It can bother me to see something like Breaking Bad where Walter White is the kingshit (hero/antihero/supersmart guy) and his wife Skylar is constantly the victim. That's an example of male power "fantasies". In fact this just creates a false sense in…
Dude, sometimes there's articles too thick (or not my type) to read through. On those I DON'T COMMENT. Why? Because I don't know enough about the subject of discussion, or even if I think I do, this article might have changed that reference. You'd do well to follow this advice.
I won't disagree that a creator only getting 25% of sales for their work is very low. However there are some considerations: The TF2 marketplace is a massive way to advertise your product you wouldn't have available otherwise, & the game TF2 is free (thus Valve makes money from hats).
Wait... you must be referring to Dota. Okay so they bought it from IceFrog, hired him, and listen to him for all current updates. He now makes way more money than he did before, and he still gets massive creative freedom to maintain the game the way he desires.
Sounds like you made the smart choice by talking on her level and educating her to the value and cost of such apps. No parent can (or should) stop everything bad a kid does, but it's helping them learn from it that's important.

The most I could see Valve do is make their new games exclusive to PC (Windows, Linux & Mac). Even this is unlikely. They tend to make people use their products by doing it better than the competition, not cutting off the consumer's legs.
What kills me is that due to people letting their emotions control them so much over HL3, people even complain when Valve innovates. I can just see them making a great new ground-breaking series and 1/4 of their fans will still whine about HL3 instead of enjoying the new thing.
The thing I keep seeing though is people care about HL3 because of psychology. They feel an OCD sense of desiring completion for the series, the keyword being completion. Didn't people ever hear that it's about the journey?
All the games I listed in both lists have exclusive deals, it's just we don't know if they're timed or not. Of the first list I think we both agree that they won't come to PC (MS published). There was a time when Halo would have possibly come to PC, but MS has said as much that that time has passed.
Yea the only games I'm pretty sure won't get PC releases are: Ryse, Crimson Dragon, & Halo 5. The ones I'm unsure of are: Dead Rising 3, Quantum Break, Killer Instinct, D4, and Destiny. Some could be timed exclusives, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be developed later.
I don't doubt that they're fairly accurate, just in my experience, using one finger can never match the slow precision of a mouse set to low sensitivity. It requires using the whole hand and gives extreme accuracy, also there's a lot more real estate (from a mousepad) so you can do large twitch maneuvers in one…

Yea I do like the idea, but however it may leave mouse users uncomfortable with it. I do have my qualms with this controller (for example, smaller "mousepad" than a mouse, therefore should be less accurate). What the articles seem to imply is that it's halfway between a mouse and keyboard in terms of control. More…
They mentioned in the original article the possibility of an on-screen display for the trackpads to show where your fingers are at. Like a HUD in the game. This could be a compromise without requiring bumps (even very small ones that only impede mouse movement very slightly).
Your right thumb has easy access to 6 buttons (the 2 you mentioned, the touch pad can easily have 2 on the right, and there's 3 at the button of which 2 are easily reachable).
Unless you play with the controller flat on the table and move the thumbsticks with your pointer fingers (highly inaccurate compared to thumbs while gripping the controller) while hitting Y & X with your middle/ring fingers, then you can't do what you say anyway on a 360 or PS3 controller. Also you can do the exact…
Dota 2, L4D2 and TF2 are all highly rated by critics and celebrated games. It's quite irrelevant whether they're your type of game or not. At first you talked generally about Steam fans, but in your response you gave your personal opinion on the type of games you liked. That's quite a shitty way to make a logical…
