No shit.

Not every Indians fan supports Chief Wahoo. Lots of us want him to go and loudly say so every year. And most fans of the Cubs are also Blackhawks fans. You’re not just a dick, you’re also a hypocrite.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying here.

If I recall, both of those guys were healthy enough to play in the Series (and contribute), whereas Carrasco and Salazar were unable to start ANY games, which severely constrained the Indians starting pitching staff (as well as the bullpen). Further, though Bauer was able to play, he was not himself in either of his

What are you talking about? It’s not unprecedented in baseball. The Royals did it in 85, the Pirates in the 70s.

Not great odds, but when you have a full, healthy roster with near unlimited funds, and the best record in baseball, you’re not the underdog. You either win as the favorite or lose to the underdog.

The Indians have a payroll half the size of Chicago and two of their best three starters were unable to play. Cleveland was the underdog.

Tomlin’s stats this year totally miss how dominant he was when he was on. He was a steady rock for the first half of the season, but shortly after the All-Star break he had to miss some games for a “family emergency” that was never explained (nor does it need to be, but it felt really cryptic at the time).

As a lifelong Indians fan, I can only speak for myself, but I’ve done my best to be both proud and not an A-hole. Every time I look at Boston, I say to myself:

As a Cavs fan, we used to always face the Bulls in the playoffs and get knocked out by Jordan and crew, so I feel ya.

And for what it’s worth, we do have an AHL hockey team, the Lake Erie Monsters, who ALSO won a championship in 2016. This has been a very strange year from our perspective, too. We are not used to

What’s your firstborn’s ERA?

He was calling the Giants mediocre (with one lights-out starter).

Actually, he’s donating millions of dollars to it, a significant portion of his earnings. But please, tell me again what YOU’RE doing?

Did anyone outside of Chicago read this?

Part of me would love to see this every year, and the other part says that this was something special, and that trying to recapture the magic would ruin it.

Either way, it’s been a hell of a run. Good Kinja.

“Sepia Sense of Preciousness” sounds like a great book title documenting the history of the Cards. Very good.

Good Kinja

This is good Kinja.

I was at the Indiant-Tigers game. The ball landed on the warning track and bounced so high it left the park for a Ground Rule Double. Strangest GRD I’ve ever seen. There were also two balks during the game. TWO!

Good Kinja.
