I have a feeling the newer stadiums like SoFi are engineered to sound good during football games - and I went there for the Eagles-Rams game last year and it DID sound good.  Those older stadiums were ostensibly multipurpose and probably were acoustically engineered as such.

The acoustics at SoFi are TERRIBLE for live music.  I saw the Stones once there and thought it was an aberration; saw Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel and same problem.  Never again will I go there for a concert.
