The “tachyon cannon” bugged me. The show brought back the Intrinsic Field Subtractor (at least in conversation, and also in Veidt’s play), and the Teleporter. But the comic had no “tachyon cannon”, and why would a massive blast of tachyons destroy Dr Manhattan? In the comic we saw that tachyons affected his time

I’m not going to pretend to understand what it means, but I loved that in a show so devoted to the exploration of how people change when they put on a mask, that Dr Manhattan’s mask was his own face.

I stumbled into this article because of something in the headline. I’m not a Modern Family watcher; I’ve seen maybe five or six episodes of the course of the first few seasons, and liked it ok, but not enough to watch it week to week. So I’m genuinely curious: is this show any good? I know it’s been around forever

b8ta: OK, I get it. It’s like “BETA”, right? But wouldn’t b8a conveyed the same information more concisely?

LOL

The purpose of the Millennium Clock might be to send out streams of tachyons to keep Dr M from knowing what’s going on. If so, Lady Trieu is either really working with the 7K, or she might be trying to destroy Dr M for her own purposes (possibly in partnership with Ozymandias, since destroying Dr M was his one great

I’ve been wondering whose side Lady Trieu is really on, and whether she’s as against the 7K as she says. My sense is that she’s against them, but that she also wants to destroy Dr Manhattan, but for her own purposes. And maybe the Millennium clock sends out streams of tachyons to prevent Dr M from knowing what’s going

The scene with Laurie and the trap door should have bothered me more, but it didn’t. It was the one scene in the show that I laughed all the way through. It didn’t seem to be lazy writing to me; I think it was intentional comic relief.

Another prediction:

Yes. Lindelof earned my trust with The Leftovers, and I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt now.

Yes, the courhouse in Angela’s head. But they’re in her head because she’s remembering them now: didn’t Trieu switch her feed to another line right before the Ozymandias scene? And if Ozymandias is in the statue, perhaps that feed was coming directly from Ozymandias.

Before this episode, I was wondering if they’d be able to successfully tie together all the threads in the few episodes they have left. But now it’s like “My God, slow down, dude!”

I’ve noticed this in your reviews all season and have been quiet long enough: her name is Gwart, not Qwart.

Now playing

The closing track is “Zen Drums” by Bibio.

I dunno, I like what the show’s been doing with Veidt and the 7K and Blake and Lady Trieu, etc. Lindolof’s earned my trust that he’s going to those threads together by the end in some interesting and unexpected way.

I’ve stopped noticing if/when I laugh or not. It’s all about the world- and character- building for me now, and if there happens to be a laugh now and again (or often), it’s all just part of the show.

Yes, that cover is ridiculous (and also a bit scary). But I didn’t get something until now: is Pete Davidson considered uncool? Do people not like him? I’m not sure exactly how to ask what I’m asking - I’m in my 60's so might be using the wrong phrasing - but I always find him amusing. Thinking back, I can’t think

Somewhere in there, it would have been useful to have been told exactly what a Pampered Chef party entails. I’ve googled it, so now I know... but I shouldn’t have had to.
