To be fair at least they didn’t get the gig by being personal friends of members of the British Cabinet - unlike most current Government contractors.
To be fair, if you’re going to remake a story, “Victory of the Daleks” isn’t a bad pick because it sucked but had a great premise. Not a terrible idea to do a soft redo of that one.
The Doctor probably realized that it doesn’t change anything anyway.
Daleks: Toyotathon Is On!
I really hope this happens, both to give Yaz more room to shine, and to more explore the new Doctor-Yaz relationship, which I think has interesting possibilities
Considering all the “of the Daleks” titles they’ve had through the decades, I’m surprised they haven’t used “Revolution” before.
One of the weirder parts of Chibnall’s time running the show is that he doesn’t seem to find it at all necessary to give villains any kind of real comeuppance. Most of the time, Thirteen just gives them a stern talking-to and then leaves them free to pull the same shit again, and the rare times one of them does get…
Back in the mid-80s, when a lot of public TV stations were running original “Doctor Who,” the station near me in Nashville brought Jon Pertwee to town for a fund-raiser. I remember him ridiculing the idea of the (pre-flight) Daleks. “All you have to do is go up a flight of stairs!’
All I can think of when I see Daleks now is Alex Jones talking about how the UK has real ones running around with a covid testing swab at the end of one arm and a gun to ensure compliance in the other.
Ah, the daleks. The most iconic - and the most ludicrous - of the Doctor’s antagonists. Giving them the power of flight makes them more dangerous... and more ludicrous.
Do you know a better way to get rid of parasites?
I do like when they cut out the middleman and just cast a stunt person as a character who has a big fight scene.
Someone on another forum pointed out that Ashoka’s intro was the lightside version of Vader’s corridor scene in Rogue One.
I did like the melty disintegrating Sheev. I thought that was well done. I like that as a clone he didn’t have his scarring, but he got it back when he got his powers which was dumb.
I’m less concerned with how he eats than How does Din shave?
It’s Adam Baldwin all over again. Like, just, please, God, shut up, stop being an asshole, and let me like you as an actor.
I’m pretty sure I can handle seeing Gina Carano as long as I can keep my mind of the stuff she’s been saying. Now let’s watch her hang out with a guy who always wears a mask...goddamit!
Did you know that Julia Stiles was extremely embarrassed by her stint on The Madalorian?
This was a fun little diversion. I laughed out loud at the Kid with the wires and when the two Stormtroopers crashed into each other trying to chase them off the ridge. Just a fun touch by Weathers who did a marvelous job this episode with the action. It was familiar but familiar in a good way, IMO.
