It’s funny how Nintendo touts the N3DS being so much faster. If this game were running side-by-side on a Vita vs the N3DS, the old hardware of the Vita would easily run the game much faster.... Of course, Nintendo knows nobody bought the Vita so it doesn’t matter how much faster that system is. They can continue to

how about I not pay money for something I used to get for free? seriously, does no one remember that Amazon just recently abruptly ended their free cloud storage to push people to pay for Prime? they only offered like 5 or so gigs, but that it enough for important stuff. it’s a waste of time, energy, internet, etc to

Sony tends to support their old systems far longer than the competition. They sometimes say they’ll do it for 10 years (depending on the system). you could buy PS1 games well after PS2. you could buy PS2 games well after PS3 too... though it probably helps most their old systems have done better than their new ones.

what are you talking about? Sony put their best foot forward when they made the thing. they put their best foot forward when they announced it too. do you not remember the Vita was a technological marvel at the time it was announced. it was loaded with great hardware and extra features, including that second

what’s more interesting is I don’t think I’d put the original in my top 12 Gamecube game list.

it’s almost Black Friday (or Cyber Monday if you consider that much of a thing)

I bought the original Killer Instinct at a Retro game store about 10 years ago. They asked me if I wanted the game used or new. I was confused at first, but the guy pointed to the shelf and mentioned someone brought in about a dozen or so unopened copies. It was worth it for the soundtrack alone (never knew it came

I don’t know about other people, but back then my friends and I did a lot more sharing and trading with our games. we couldn’t experience everything, but it wasn’t an endless wait either. Discovered a lot of great games that way too.

except no one asked publishers to raise costs to 30x. sure, people wanted nicer graphics and content, but the publishers shouldn’t have seen “more” as enough of a justification to increase by that magnitude. they should have had the common sense to find a balance between what consumers wanted and what they could

except what you really hate is your own confusion from your overly simplistic understanding of the issue. cartridges cost a lot of money to make. the medium determined the cost. nowadays the media we put games on are dirt cheap. the costs keep shrinking despite in inflation. what has gone up is the cost it takes to

reposted from another response:

emulation in itself is not illegal. in fact, those retro games Nintendo sells on their markets all are packaged with an emulator to run them. emulators are common in the world of computers and have been used legally for a long time to emulate wide ranges of hardware, not just game systems. it’s not illegal. in fact,

I have fond memories of running NESticle in DOS.

It’s actually not that hard to sort through Android emulators given how few emulators there are, with maybe the exception of the NES. Plus RetroArch is available on the OS and it’s free. Other emulators are built with the phone interface in mind though. RetroArch can be a little daunting without a keyboard and mouse.

NullDC is great. It’s by far the best Dreamcast emulator. It’s still riddled with problems though. I was playing D2 on it. The game would crash when I tried to load the next disc. The solution was to keep multiple revisions of NullDC and copy the VMU file back and forth between them. Then I had to tweak the rendering

drivers are the only reason I now shifted from AMD cards to Nvidia ones. AMD runs well in most cases, but when something goes wrong it goes really wrong. it’s always been a driver problem in my experience. I’d also get far more minor problems running games on AMD cards, things like stuttering, etc. Finding work

Oh yes, I agree completely. I’d even argue it’s one of the most faithful film adaptations of a book into a film ever, not just of Dick’s works. They knew just what to cut, what to condense, and what to keep. Even the few things they added fit so well, you might not notice Dick didn’t write them.

pretty sure he was talking about Trudeau. he is the new Canadian Prime Minister (they just had elections recently). he’s young and his relative lack of experience has been the source of debate in Canadian politics. since he’s new in office, it’s hard to say just what kind of leadership decisions he might make

I think you misread his comment. It looks like he was referring to the the thinking not the events. I suspect he means the thinking that the most extreme and destructive options are the best solutions, choosing the the extreme as the first course of action rather than the last.

This I’d like to play!
