i do agree. devs can be put in a weird position (especially with publishers pushing deadlines). some release knowingly broken or incomplete games, only to fix them later... but if they couldnt fix them later, then broken games would be broken forever... so fixing games is good... wait. im not sure there is an easy

wow. you conflated a lot there so itll take me a min to unravel it all.

modern science fiction and the poor understanding of physics are the reasons we misrepresent space (and space combat) so much. its funny because for a long time scifi was written by people who were very knowledgeable in science. some were even experts in in fields of it! their stories would often use mostly real

ummmmm

say what you will about the guy. hes got a point. though calling Notch out on saying something he said isnt exactly a hard task. Notch talks a lot of crap.

oh yeah youre right. i got it backwards. sapphire is better with scratches but worse in a fall. durrrrrrr. stupid me.

edit: i dont know why i forgot sapphire was worse in a fall so i guess its better it wasnt sapphire

now youre arguing semantics. yes im getting a coca cola product but that wasnt really the point. i could have said bananas and grapefruit. i the fact that they are both coca cola products (or fruit in the latter example) is like saying they are both horror games. im not telling everyone in a restaurant they are wrong

i am fully aware i came off a bit as a hipster but its hard not to when it comes to horror. as i stated people dont like to be terrified and tend to have a lower tolerance for fear. but i have no problem with popular things in general (perhaps im a horror hipster?) but its possible to go too far to the other end of

well i thought Silent Hill was scarier since it avoided a lot of horror cliches or at very least subverted them. to put things in perspective Silent Hill has never been the most popular of series. to me it raises some alarms with how good of a response this demo/video are getting. generally the best horror films arent

eh... there was some interesting stuff but so much of it was horror cliches. its definitely not nightmare fuel... at least not to me. its certainly not as scary as the original Silent Hill games. i hope they try a lot harder (or perhaps less hard since this reeks of trying too hard) for the actual game.

not to mention antibacterial soap use also contributes to the rise of resistant bacteria

my rule of thumb is if someone is getting paid for the project then you shouldnt add to it for free. you should get paid for working just like other people. otherwise they are getting paid for your work instead of you.

ha! i remember the first time i played Minesweeper on my DOS/Windows 3.1 machine but it had nothing on Rodent's Revenge!

Nokia phone? wow do i feel old. thats probably one of the most recent versions of this game i can remember.

because the big push for DRM is only partially a response to piracy. sure many developers do genuinely believe adding DRM will curb piracy or that their games will not sell without it. but piracy just makes a good boogeyman. most people agree pirating games is wrong on some level. its an easy sell to the uninformed.

Now playing

ah Crystalis. i had some fun with that one. some others i wish:

just because technology is advancing doesnt mean AI is on the horizon. it simply means it could be on the horizon. nothing more. nothing less.

see the thing is even with a perfect internet connection you are going to run into hiccups because all sorts of problems can happen between you and the server. there can even be sever-side lag which will affect your game. ive been saying this since it was announced.

it uses time travel more like 12 Monkeys (using Novikov self-consistency principle). its definitely worth a watch if you dont mind it being in Spanish (though i think it may also be dubbed).
