The best part about that Teen Tournament was that solely due to that outcome, the guy who ended up winning advanced to the finals and won in insane comeback fashion. Grantland did an awesome article about it. http://grantland.com/the-tr…

That's a good point. He had a knee replacement a while back, and it seems like that may have messed up the taping schedule, which I didn't realize. That makes more sense now.
I drive my wife crazy when we watch the show by flipping out over wussy wagers on DDs. It seems like at least once a week someone finds an $800 DD clue in a position to either take the lead or make the game a runaway, they don't wager nearly enough to accomplish that, and then they get the answer right. Makes me…
Jeopardy does have an exemption for champions unable to continue in a linear fashion, although as far as I know it had only ever been used for champions who fall ill.
Ross was 100% right, and Rachel was actually the first person to say 'we were on a break'. Then again, Ross had the hottest girl on the planet and screwed someone else. So my sympathy is sort of limited.
The year period where Rachel was dating Ross, she looked about as good as anyone ever. By season 4 she'd lost a bunch of weight and it wasn't the same (though she's obviously still spectacularly beautiful).
She should. The outrage police has gotten so tone-deaf they're now going after the people who are, in spirit if not in practice, on their side. It's legitimately out of control.
Or, maybe, they want to drag out a potential Rey/Finn romance for effect?
One of my favorite parts of Into Darkness is when he speaks in idioms twice within 3 minutes and an annoyed Kirk tells him to stop it. Urban is a treasure in those films.
I don't think he thought Wisconsin in particular was 'a secret den of hot girls'. I took it to mean it was probably the cheapest place in America to hop a flight to.
I also enjoyed that. There aren't enough representations in pop culture of a guy and girl being really good friends with absolutely no romantic situations at play. Having been a part of such a friendship at one point, it's a really cool thing.
On the movie's wiki page, there's a quote from an interview with him and he claims to be playing someone in the government.
Holt sticking a piece of chewing gum in his mouth for effect while expressing his contempt for not being 'involved' in the Sharon situation was so good. I'm convinced the writers are just throwing things out at this point to see if Andre Braugher can make them funny. (And he's batting 1.000.)
Idris Elba's character in The Office worked for a Northeast US-based small paper conglomerate. I'm not saying a Brit COULDN'T work there, but it would have been pretty unusual.
You must be new here. Outrage and disappointment at any hint of real or imagined racism or sexism in every form of media is like 30% of the site.
AOTC, they're riding the elevator up to see Padme and Obi-Wan says Anakin hasn't looked this nervous since he got stuck in a nest of gundarks. I think that's what you're referencing.
Yeah, I think that shot is actually quite flattering.
Yeah, I read everything you posted and you basically had no point other than being mad a black character was made a villain. (Love that you assume I have some huge affinity for SHIELD. I enjoy the show but it's not like I need to come on here and defend it specifically.)
Your whole post was basically bitching they made a black guy the villain after having previously killed one, then you reeled off the list of underused, in your opinion, black characters on the show. Even if that's not what you meant, it's a perfectly logical reading of your post.
I didn't hate it, but I feel like it's wildly overrated. I suspect there are two kinds of Will Ferrell fans: Those who preferred The Other Guys (this is my camp, I think that movie is freaking hilarious) and those who preferred Step Brothers.
