As a former movie theater concession worker, I can attest that, as soul-sucking low-wage jobs go, ‘movie theater guy’ was pretty cool. The best part is that other than your co-workers (and I had mostly cool ones), no interaction with another human need last more than about 30 seconds.

Good article, but I really wish people would stop using (by implication) the demise of Gawker as some sort of affront to journalism. The fact that the suit that killed them was bankrolled wouldn’t have mattered if they had not committed libel, which they indisputably did.

I’ve got a pretty shitty mother-in-law too, but just in an annoying/incompetent way, not a borderline sociopathic way like the questioner. So now I feel a little better about mine. Thanks, questioner!

I’m a ‘we’ person for the most part. My rationalization is that I have cared about the fortunes of the team longer than pretty much anyone who’s actually affiliated with them, so I’ve made my blood sacrifice, as it were. Also, it’s just quicker and easier to say.

As a Panthers fan myself, this article is always my favorite of Drew’s every year. “Christian McEdelman” is performance art.

The Bucs changing their jerseys wasn’t as bad as hooking themselves to Jameis, but it wasn’t THAT far behind. They had probably the best look in football, one that was completely and uniquely theirs, and now they look like what an 8-year-old would cook up on Madden Create A Team. It’s so sad.

Chuck Forrest invented the strategy a long time ago and it’s known as the Forrest Bounce; Arthur was the first recent player to do it and others have wisely picked it up since.

The problem (or feature) with GOAT arguments is that even that term can mean different things to different people. I generally go by resume. So while LeBron is probably the most enthralling and skilled basketball player ever, MJ retains GOAT distinction. Same with QBs: Brady gets my GOAT honor by resume, even if I

The Patriots entry in this series is Drew’s magnum opus every year.

I mean, that’s an exaggeration, but I’d love to see Rodgers and Brady put up the kind of game Cam did in the playoffs last year with one-footed Greg Olsen, one-armed Devin Funchess and 3 piles of scrap to throw to. I'm still pissed off at Kaelin Clay for dropping that TD.

He donated to Obama twice, but sure, he voted for the guy who publicly declared war on Obama’s presidency. That checks out.

You may not have meant to say it the way you did, but to heavily imply that every baseball player who’s ever said something offensive on Twitter is a “straight, white, able-bodied man” is simply incorrect at best (we’re still only 9 months removed from Yuli Gurriel) and at worst is stereotyping.

I have no choice but to agree with #1 because I turned into a complete blubbering mess for a good half hour after the Cubs won the World Series. The fact that I was holding my 2-month-old son at the time just compounded it all.

I hate #The Process as much as anyone regardless of sport (and I’m a Cubs fan, so there’s no small amount of hypocrisy in that stance, but I still don’t like it), but not everyone has the luxury of having other teams repeatedly toss you major assets for ones with little to no value, as Boston has for most of the last

The perimeter-surrounding 3 that I assume you’re referring to happened the day after the Duke game in your first batch of highlights. Starts at 1:48 at this link at YouTube dot com slash watch?v=h6tvL46xYbw (I tried just linking, but it pretends like it’s gonna embed the video, then doesn’t)

Even if Brady were immortal, Belichick wouldn’t be, and no matter how great your QB is, you aren’t winning every year if you stumble into a bad coach. I’d keep watching.

The Astros definitely just tanked for a while. The trouble (or the great thing, depending on POV) is they weren’t even that good at it, at least at the top of the draft, completely whiffing on Mark Appel over Kris Bryant and also on Brady Aiken. The system allowed them to fuck over Aiken after they discovered a

Don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or what, but this is all kinds of not working. Keep getting a ‘we were unable to process your order’ message after checkout.

Is this a joke post? Bomani is not only an atheist, he openly belittles believers who get on his case about it on Twitter. He’s about as open as can be about it.

I’m going to be #WellActually guy AND Defend Notre Dame Guy because I apparently want to have no friends, but ND has (I believe) the only full tackle football student intramural program in the country. Each male residence hall has a team. I’m not saying they would lay waste to everyone in the Mass Ineligibility
